Jelly Donut

Andrew Bancroft is recognized in the underground freestyle rap world as "Jelly Donut".[3][4]

In 2007, in an attempt to get the British rapper Lady Sovereign to go on a date with Zach Slow, illBilly productions helped Slow raise $10,000 USD on his website.[5][6] Lady Sovereign accepted the offer, and Jelly Donut was invited as well. However, Lady Sovereign was less than grateful in a subsequent interview by the San Francisco Chronicle. Jelly Donut then took it upon himself to defend his friend’s reputation by attending Lady Sovereign’s next concert in San Francisco, and challenging Lady Sovereign to a freestyle rap battle, which she refused to accept.[7]

Film

illBilly produced the film Evolution: The Musical! in collaboration with Mothership Pictures.[8] Evolution was shown at the 2008 San Francisco International Film Festival.[9]

illBilly is also known for the short films Maximum Wage and Gabriel: Angel in the Outfield, and their stop motion animated shorts including a raunchy, but popular Christmas remake of Trapped in the Closet by Bancroft and collaborator Zach Slow.

Live shows

The illBilly boys have long been staples of the San Francisco performance scene, hosting the monthly shows "Late Night with God", "Lord of the Drinks"[2] and "Popcorn Anti-Theater",[10] and working with many local artists and groups including Jolie Holland, Sean Hayes, Kid Beyond and Killing My Lobster.[11] They have also been regular guests at "Tourettes Without Regrets", the Oakland vaudevillian game show-style MC battle and poetry slam, hosted by Jamie DeWolf.[12]
